These handsome birds breed in our area, but only in the now far-and-few-between areas where their favored habitat of secondary growth and abandoned fields remains undisturbed. Their buzzy call is almost as distinctive and attractive as their looks: this freshly-arrived male loudly advertises territory from a Multiflora Rose.
